Charcoal & Pencil
This charcoal/pencil is actually done on watercolor paper for texture. Unfortunately the texture and fine strokes are lost to the Net. This piece has won several awards and is a favorite of mine. 92' This is a charcoal piece exemplifying the struggle of Bison in the winter. A former jazz teacher of mine bought this one from me. Very funny man. 93' This is a scene from the Great Atchafalaya here in Louisiana. Swaying moss, cypress knees and wind rippled water appear just before a storm. 95'
This still life includes an antique wine holder w/ leather straps. 92'
Color Chalk - Under Sea Rainbow - This abstraction was drawn from emotion rather then one specific idea or goal. 93' Color Chalk - End of the world - This sketch was based on the Indian belief that someday the sun will fall from the sky and crash into the sea causing the end of the world. 93'
Pen and Ink stipple - look closely at the blowup to see the pointillism. 94'

Watercolor

The Approaching Storm - This watercolor is actually 4 feet long and took a good bit to produce. 93' Religious Abandonment - This piece is of an abandoned church in St. Francesville, Louisiana. 92'

Sketches of Italy

Venetian Bridge - I chose this crossing because of the way the steps spill from the bridge. 98' Interior of The Pantheon - Rome, Italy - I was only able to finish part of this sketch because we were ushered out of the Pantheon as it started to rain. This is supposedly a sacred event only to be viewed by servants of the church, but luckily I was able to enjoy it for a few seconds as the cloud burst came out of nowhere. 98'
Gates of Roman Market - Florence, Italy - This 7-story archway gave entrance to one of the biggest open air marketplaces in all of Italy. 98' Great Arch of Titus - Rome, Italy - This I sketched in the Roman Forum trying to capture not only its beauty but also its architectural proportions. 98'
